{"id":987,"date":"2025-04-27T14:27:36","date_gmt":"2025-04-27T14:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gogetterlifestylebrand.com\/?p=987"},"modified":"2025-04-28T11:26:31","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T11:26:31","slug":"rubio-says-only-solution-for-war-in-ukraine-is-negotiation-where-both-give-up-something","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gogetterlifestylebrand.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/27\/rubio-says-only-solution-for-war-in-ukraine-is-negotiation-where-both-give-up-something\/","title":{"rendered":"Rubio says \u2018only solution\u2019 for war in Ukraine is negotiation where both &#8216;give up something\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday that the \u201conly solution\u201d for the war in Ukraine is a negotiation where both Russia and Ukraine \u201cgive up something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no military solution to this war,\u201d Rubio told NBC News\u2019s Kristen Welker on \u201cMeet the Press.\u201d \u201cThe only solution to this war is a negotiated settlement where both sides are going to have to give up something they claim to want, and are going to have to give the other side something they wish they didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s how you end wars, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re trying to achieve here so more people won\u2019t die,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Since President Trump\u2019s return to office a few months ago, his administration has pushed to end the war in Ukraine, talking with both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Zelensky <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5269036-donald-trump-volodymyr-zelensky-rome-meeting\/\">met Saturday<\/a> in Rome prior to the funeral of Pope Francis, who died <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5269679-bolton-calls-trump-zelensky-meeting-a-significant-step-towards-sensible-conversation\/\">last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood meeting. We discussed a lot one on one,\u201d Zelensky said Saturday <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5269459-volodymyr-zelensky-donald-trump-meeting-rome-peace-talks\/\">on the social<\/a> platform X of the meeting. \u201cHoping for results on everything we covered.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProtecting lives of our people. Full and unconditional ceasefire. Reliable and lasting peace that will prevent another war from breaking out. Very symbolic meeting that has potential to become historic, if we achieve joint results,\u201d he added. \u201cThank you @POTUS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump also expressed frustration with Moscow on Thursday in the wake of deadly strikes being launched on Ukraine\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV,\u201d Trump posted on Truth Social. \u201cNot necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying.
