Over 30 people were killed in a Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian city on Sunday, officials said.<\/p>\n

The strikes hit the heart of the city of Sumy around 10:15 a.m. when people were gathering for Palm Sunday, The Associated Press reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of now, 31 people are known to have been killed in Sumy by the Russian ballistic missile strike. Among those killed were two children,\u201d Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a post on X.<\/a><\/p>\n

Zelensky said there were more than 84 people, including 10 children, who were wounded and receiving care.<\/p>\n

Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of ignoring the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire and called for action.<\/p>\n

The U.S.-brokered deal<\/a> sought to end the more than three-year war and has been a large focus of the Trump administration\u2019s international efforts.<\/p>\n

Russia and Ukraine have traded insults about the ceasefire proposal and accused one another of breaching the tentative 30-day pause in the fighting plan, the AP reported.<\/p>\n

It came just a day after U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Putin to discuss peace proposals.<\/p>\n

The Sunday attack that killed more than 30 is the second large-scale attack that killed many people and came just days after a missile strike<\/a> on Zelensky\u2019s hometown of Kryvyi Rih.<\/p>\n
