(<a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/dhs-secretary-kristi-noem-attends-ice-raid-at-home-of-pregnant-l-a-county-mother\/\">KTLA<\/a>) \u2014 U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined federal immigration agents Thursday on a raid targeting a man with a criminal record at a Huntington Park, California, home, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>The raid occurred Thursday morning when about a half-dozen vehicles carrying heavily armed, masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents converged on a home occupied by a 28-year-old pregnant mother of four.<\/p>\n<p>Sabrina Medina said she was in the shower at around 6 a.m. when her brother-in-law first saw the menacing presence in front of the family\u2019s home. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just terrified, I\u2019m not going to lie to you,\u201d Medina told Nexstar&#8217;s KTLA. \u201cI was shaking. I was scared. I\u2019ve never gone through anything like this.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Medina, a U.S. citizen, said she looked out the window and saw 10 men dressed in tactical military gear, all of them carrying rifles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018Am I dreaming or is this real?\u2019\u201d she said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Medina, the agents told her to exit her home with her children. Standing in the driveway, they showed her a warrant for her husband, with his name listed as David Garcia. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As she explained that her husband\u2019s name is Jorge and that he was not at the house, one of the agents is captured on\u00a0an outdoor home surveillance camera turning the device away from what was transpiring. \u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-effect=\"slide\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_container swiper-container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_swiper-wrapper swiper-wrapper\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_slide swiper-slide\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"DHS Sec. (DHS)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-prev swiper-button-prev swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-next swiper-button-next swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a aria-label=\"Pause Slideshow\" class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-pause\" role=\"button\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_pagination swiper-pagination swiper-pagination-white\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Cameras inside the home captured the heavily armed ICE agents going through the residence room by room, all while Noem, donning a bulletproof vest and ballcap, watched from the street. <\/p>\n<p>The Homeland Security chief would later mention the Huntington Park raid at the press conference where <a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/watch-dhs-secretary-noem-speaks-from-l-a-after-calling-it-city-of-criminals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) was roughly shoved out of the room<\/a>, pushed to the ground, cuffed and briefly detained. \u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<aside class=\"promo-link\">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/nationworld\/u-s-marshal-wrongly-detained-by-ice-agents-in-lobby-of-federal-building\/\" class=\"promo-link__link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\tU.S. Marshal wrongly detained by ICE agents in lobby of federal building\t<\/a><br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p>After hearing about the raid, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn went to the Huntington Park neighborhood and spoke with some of Medina\u2019s neighbors. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very disappointed in this government right now and what they\u2019re doing,\u201d she told KTLA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Four months pregnant with her fifth child, the Huntington Park mother said if her husband is deported, the family\u2019s future is bleak. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to be able to pay my rent when I have to pay it,\u201d she explained. \u201cMy husband is not here. I don\u2019t know if they\u2019re going to pick him up tomorrow, the day after tomorrow. It\u2019s sad.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>ICE agents, along with Noem, eventually left the home empty-handed, and the children were allowed back inside. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For now, the family is unsure what the coming days will bring, but Medina said if her husband is deported, she and her children will likely follow him back to Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><em>This story was updated at 5:42 p.m.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Editor\u2019s note: This article has been updated to include the intended target of the raid.
